    Titanium anodizing is a technique to form an interfered titanium oxide hair film on the surface of titanium

     

    Titanium is anodized in H2SO4 system. Studies have shown that voltage, temperature and oxidation time have an impact on the color of the anodized film,
    where voltage is the main factor affecting the color and thickness of the oxide film.
    The mass concentration of the electrolyte affects the uniformity and continuity of the film.
    The thickness of the film layer is proportional to the oxidation time, but there is a time limit. After reaching this time limit, the film thickness no longer increases with time.
    Titanium anodization is a titanium oxide thin film technology that conditions the titanium surface, which improves the decorative and artistic value of titanium. Its film layer is bright and symmetrical in color, corrosion-resistant, has strong bonding and good mutual solubility, and has been widely used in modern biomedical engineering industry and aerospace industry.
    The titanium anodizing process uses titanium as the anode and metal materials such as stainless steel or titanium as the cathode. It relies on certain acidic or alkaline electrolyte solutions to generate an oxide film on the titanium surface by electrochemical reaction. This oxide film itself is colorless, transparent, and has strong light reflection and refraction. The naturally generated titanium oxide film does not show color, mainly because the naturally formed titanium oxide film is only a few dozen very thin, and the titanium oxide film can be formed on the surface of the anodized surface in hundreds or even a few microns, and different thicknesses show different tones through light interference, and the color of the titanium oxide film does not require additional elements, which is safer and more reliable.
    Titanium oxide film can improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the titanium substrate, and is widely used in engineering construction, aviation, medicine and other industries.

    The oxidation production process is as follows:

    Titanium products → degreasing and cleaning → pickling → water cleaning → anodizing → cleaning → sealing → drying.

     

    1. Degreasing: Degreasing is to better remove residual oil, scale and larger defects on the titanium surface after machining. Expose a fresh, uncontaminated titanium surface to prepare for further dyeing.
    2. Pickling: The purpose of pickling is to expose the fresh surface of the titanium substrate and produce a strong, stable and stain-free titanium oxide film after anodizing.
    3. Anodizing: The treated titanium product is used as an anode and placed in the prepared electrolyte, while titanium is used as a cathode. After power is turned on, it can be seen that as the voltage increases, the color changes differently, from the original copper color of about 5V to green at about 110V.
    4. Sealing: In order to better improve the anti-fouling property of the anodized film, the anodized product is washed with running water to remove the surface electrolyte, and then placed in 80° deionized water for 20 minutes to seal the pores.
    5. Drying: After sealing, wipe off the moisture on the surface of the product and put it in an oven to dry.
