Titanium industry capacity expansion
By the end of 2020, the capacity of China's titanium sponge increased by 12.0% compared to 2019, reaching 177,000 tons, which is mainly due to the domestic large titanium sponge production enterprises optimistic about the future market demand growth, the formation of continuous merger, restructuring and expansion of production.
According to the statistics of 33 titanium ingot manufacturers, the capacity of China's titanium ingot in 2020 increased by 11.8% compared with that in 2019, reaching 199,000 tons.
The production of titanium industry increased greatly
Titanium concentrate: According to the statistics of Panzhihua Vanadium and Titanium Industry Association, China will produce 6.33 million tons of titanium concentrate in 2020, up 32.7% year on year. Among them, the output of Panxi region was 5.11 million tons, up 35.5% year-on-year, accounting for 80.7% of the total domestic output. Imports of titanium concentrate reached 3.01 million tons, up 15.3 percent year on year.
Titanium sponge: In 2020, 12 Chinese enterprises produced a total of 122,958 tons of titanium sponge, up 44.9 percent from 2019, the sixth consecutive year of growth.
Titanium ingot: According to the statistics of 33 enterprises, China produced 119,937 tons of titanium ingot in 2020, a 35.2 percent increase compared to 2019, which has been a growth for six consecutive years.
Titanium processing materials: according to the statistics of 32 major domestic titanium production enterprises, in 2020, China's total production of titanium processing materials 97,029 tons, 28.9% year-on-year growth, has been increased for 6 consecutive years.
In terms of the structure of titanium products, the output of titanium and titanium alloy plates will increase by 47.5% year-on-year in 2020, accounting for 59.2% of the total output of titanium materials in that year. Among them, the production of titanium belt coil accounted for more than half, rod production also increased by 16.9% year on year, accounting for about 16.0% of the annual titanium production; Pipe production decreased 6.5% year on year, accounting for 9.8% of the annual titanium production; The output of forgings increased by 7.3% year on year, accounting for 5.8% of the annual titanium production; Titanium wire production increased the most, by 55.0%, while production of other titanium products also increased by 11.2%.
In 2020, the total sales volume of China's titanium sponge was 122,958 tons, the net export volume was negative 4,175 tons, and the domestic sales volume was 127,133 tons, a substantial increase of 50.7% year on year.
