Titanium Damascus is similar to Damascus steel. Damascus steel is forged from two or more types of steel, while titanium Damascus is composed of two or more titanium alloys (generally CP and 6AL4V at present). Timascus features corrosion resistance, non-magnetism and light weight, and has the beautiful patterns and appearance of Damascus steel. And it has no disadvantages of steel.
It is made by placing different titanium alloys in metal boxes, filling them with inert gas and applying heat and pressure to forge the two alloys into laminates and press them together.
Currently, the coloring treatment of Damascus titanium usually achieves color changes through heating rather than anodic oxidation. Of course, all current safe coloring techniques can be applied to Timascus. In the future, different alloy combination steels will have different colors. Because titanium has no carbides, this type of steel is currently mostly used for knives and furniture decoration.
Apart from milling, the manufacturing process of Timascus is basically the same as that of any other titanium alloy. Titanium of mixed types has different hardness. When cutting, different hardness levels will cause wear on the cutter. However, using a fillet cutting machine is more conducive to processing.
