GR5 titanium alloy, namely Ti-6Al-4V, is the earliest titanium alloy developed and applied in the world. Its production accounts for more than half of all types of titanium alloy semi-finished products, and more than 80% of the aviation industry. Al improves the room temperature strength and thermal strength of the alloy through solid solution strengthening of the α phase, while V improves the strength and plasticity. At the same time, V can also inhibit the formation of α2 superstructure phase and prevent the alloy from embrittlement during long-term use.

   GR5 titanium alloy semi-finished products are mainly rods, forgings, thin plates, thick plates, profiles, wires, etc. This alloy is mainly used in the annealed state, and solid solution aging strengthening can also be used, but its quenched cross section does not exceed 25~30mm, which is not suitable for solid solution aging strengthening of thick workpieces. At present, in accordance with different use conditions and process requirements, many countries in the world have made a lot of modifications to Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy. The main difference lies in the different content of Al, V and interstitial element content. In addition, Ti- with a trace of Ru is added. 6Al-4V alloy.


   GR5 titanium alloy is mainly used in the aerospace field, manufacturing various beams, bulkheads, slide rails, landing gear beams, fans, compressor disks, blades, aerospace rocket shells, pressure vessels and various fasteners. Using GR5titanium alloy to replace 30CrMnSiA structural steel can reduce the weight of parts by about 30%.


  GR5 titanium alloy can be used to manufacture automobile frames, crankshafts, connecting rods, bolts, fuel inlet valves and suspension springs.
