In the high-speed electro-galvanizing process, the selection and preparation of anode materials is a very important issue. The structural form, lifespan and quality of the galvanized steel sheet of the plating tank largely depend on the anode. There are two types of anodes used in electrogalvanizing, namely soluble anodes and insoluble anodes. Insoluble anodes have been widely used in the modern galvanizing industry due to their advantages of improving the uniformity of the coating, reducing energy consumption, and ensuring the operation rate and production continuity without frequent replacement. In general, insoluble anodes need to meet the following basic requirements:
(1) Has good electrical conductivity;
(2) Strong corrosion resistance;
(3) Good mechanical strength and processing performance;
(4) Long life and low cost.
With the development of modern electro-galvanizing industry, people have conducted extensive research on insoluble anodes for electro-galvanizing, and have been gradually popularized and applied to electro-galvanizing production.
The insoluble titanium anode is coated with a noble metal oxide coating with high electrochemical catalytic performance on a titanium substrate (mesh, plate, strip, tubular, etc.), and the coating contains a highly stable valve metal oxide. The new insoluble titanium anode has high electrochemical catalytic performance, and its service life is equivalent to that of lead alloy anode.
Liquid; lightweight and easy to replace. The oxygen evolution overpotential of the new insoluble titanium anode is also lower than that of the platinum-plated insoluble anode, but the service life is more than doubled. Widely used as anode or auxiliary anode in various electroplating, it can replace the conventional lead-based alloy anode, and under the same conditions, it can reduce the cell voltage and save power consumption; the insoluble titanium anode has good stability in the electroplating process (Chemistry, Electrochemistry), long service life, can not be taken out from the electric tank when the plating is stopped, and does not need to be cleaned regularly.
