What material is Grade 9 titanium alloy?
Grade 9 titanium alloy is an alpha-type titanium alloy with a nominal composition of Ti-3Al-2.5V, which is developed as a cold-workable pipe application. At room temperature and high temperature, its strength is 20%-50% higher than pure titanium, and its welding performance and cold forming performance are better than TC4 alloy. The maximum operating temperature is about 315°C. Although the strength of this alloy is not as high as that of TC4 alloy, it has been widely used due to its excellent cold workability. TA18 titanium alloy seamless pipe is suitable for aircraft and engine hydraulic and fuel pipeline systems, and has been used in various military and civil aircraft and aerospace applications.
