The electrolytic seawater electrolyzer is used in seawater environment, so it is more complicated than the general electrolysis of edible salt. The seawater quality and pollution conditions at home and abroad are different. The chlorine concentration and output of the electrolytic seawater chlorine electrolyzer are related not only to the electrolytic cell structure, electrode plate material and layout, current density, and ambient temperature, but also to the seawater quality, seawater concentration, etc. In principle, the chlorine concentration and output of concentrated seawater are higher than those of low-concentration seawater, but the concentrated seawater plate rate is faster than that of low-concentration seawater, so the maintenance and maintenance of the plates should be strengthened.

In order to ensure the stability of the electrolytic seawater chlorine system, a seawater filtration and softening system is generally installed, which will extend the maintenance cycle and life of the entire system. In this process, the maintenance and maintenance of the electrolytic cell and the built-in plates are very important. Now let's discuss the use and maintenance measures in low-concentration seawater and concentrated seawater environments under normal circumstances:
1. Daily maintenance of electrode plates. Backwash with clean water after each work or regularly can reduce and alleviate scaling and extend the plate pickling cycle;
2. Soak and clean the plates with about 5-10% hydrochloric acid for 30min-1h, then clean with clean water. If necessary, use a soft brush to clean (when using a soft brush to clean, do not scratch the surface coating of the electrode plate). During the cleaning process, a large number of bubbles appear in the electrolytic cell, indicating that there is a lot of carbonate scale on the surface of the plate. During the cleaning process, the scale on the plate is continuously dissolved and shed, and the organic matter attached to the plate is also shed and cleaned;
3. There are certain manganese ions in seawater. During the electrolysis process, they will oxidize to varying degrees on the anode plate of the electrolytic cell to form a MnO2 deposition layer, reducing the electrocatalytic activity of the electrode plate coating. It will also increase resistance, reduce current efficiency, increase the cell pressure, and affect the service life of the plate. Therefore, when used in an electrolytic seawater environment, the manganese ion content in seawater should be controlled at 100μg/L.
4. The inlet temperature of seawater will also affect the effective chlorine production and concentration. It is generally ideal at a temperature of 20-30℃. When the seawater temperature is relatively low in winter, a heating device can be appropriately added. If the concentrated water from seawater desalination in summer is used, the temperature is relatively high, then mixed seawater or direct access to seawater can be used. When the temperature drops below 10℃, it is not easy to operate;
5. If the electrode plate is damaged beyond the warranty period or due to improper operation or other reasons during the warranty period, you should contact our company in time to communicate, and try not to continue using it under uncertain circumstances to avoid unnecessary losses. After the warranty period, the plate coating will gradually consume and reduce the slot current value. When the original black uniform coating of the anode plate gradually reveals the base color (titanium base color), it means that the coating has been gradually consumed and needs to be returned to the factory for repair or replacement.
