1. Hydrogen and oxygen production by water electrolysis

1. High-efficiency oxygen/hydrogen evolution reaction :

The titanium anode is used as a catalyst carrier in the proton exchange membrane electrolyzer. The IrO₂ coating can increase the hydrogen production efficiency to more than 75%, and the unit hydrogen production power consumption is reduced to 4.3kWh/Nm³.

In the process of water electrolysis, the titanium anode achieves ultra-high stability of current density of 10kA/m² by reducing the oxygen evolution overpotential.

2. Seawater electrolysis adaptability :

The titanium anode is resistant to chloride ion corrosion in high-salinity seawater, with a current efficiency of ≥95% and a service life of more than 20 years.

2. Chlor-alkali industry and chemical production

1. Preparation of chlorine and caustic soda :

The titanium anode is resistant to high temperature and strong acid in the chlor-alkali electrolyzer, with a service life of more than 8000 hours and an anode loss rate of <0.1mm/year.

The RuO₂-SnO₂ composite coating is used to increase the electrolysis efficiency by 30% and reduce the energy consumption to 2800kWh/t PVC.

2. Organic synthesis and fine chemicals:

In the synthesis of ethylene glycol, caprolactam, etc., the catalytic selectivity of the titanium anode is increased to more than 98%, reducing the side reaction products.

Salt chlorinator use

III. Wastewater treatment and pollution control

1. Removal of heavy metal ions:

The titanium anode promotes the precipitation of heavy metals in the wastewater through redox reactions, with a recovery rate of ≥90%.

2. Degradation of organic pollutants:

Using the electro-Fenton reaction, the titanium anode generates hydroxyl radicals, and the removal rate of difficult-to-degrade pollutants such as phenol-containing wastewater and antibiotics is ≥90%.

3. Treatment of radioactive pollutants:

The titanium anode remains stable in the electrolytic recovery of radioactive metals such as uranium and plutonium, and is resistant to strong radiation and corrosive environments.

IV. Electroplating and surface treatment ‌

1. Precision electroplating process ‌:

Titanium anodes are used for gold, silver, chromium and other processes. The uniformity of the coating is controlled at ±0.1μm, and the anode sludge rate is reduced by 50%. ‌

2. Aerospace component processing ‌:

Titanium alloy engine blades are oxidized by titanium anodizing to form a dense oxide film, which increases the corrosion resistance by more than 3 times and the current efficiency reaches 95%. ‌

V. New energy storage and material preparation ‌

1. Liquid flow battery system ‌:

In vanadium liquid flow batteries, the service life of titanium anodes reaches 10 years, the number of cycles exceeds 20,000 times, and the energy efficiency is increased to 85%. ‌

2. Metal air battery ‌:

Zinc-air batteries use titanium-based dual-function anodes, the energy density is increased to 300Wh/kg, and the cycle life is extended by 50%. ‌
VI. Special environments and emerging fields‌

1. High-temperature molten salt electrolysis‌:

When preparing titanium sponge by molten salt electrolysis at 600℃, the platinum titanium anode operates stably for 5,000 hours, and the cathode titanium purity reaches 99.99%.‌

2. Microelectronics manufacturing‌:

In the wafer cleaning process, the titanium anode achieves 0.1μm-level coating uniformity control, which is suitable for semiconductor precision processing requirements‌.

The titanium anode has become the core material of the electrochemical industry through corrosion resistance, high catalytic activity and structural stability, covering high value-added fields such as hydrogen production, environmental protection, and energy storage‌.
