How is the titanium anode coated?
(1) Coating liquid, the coating liquid is coated on the surface of the titanium matrix, usually using brush coating method, electrostatic spraying method, rolling coating method, etc.
(2) drying, each coating once in the red lamp, or far red lamp baking, drying temperature is generally 100 to 200 ℃, so that the solvent slowly volatilized. Drying process is to volatilize all solvents, if volatilization is not complete, with thermal oxidation process, will affect the coating bonding force and electrode electrochemical performance.
(3) Thermal oxidation, calcination at the specified temperature in the heating furnace for 10 to 15 min. The thermal oxidation temperature is too high, on the one hand, the chlorine content in the coating is reduced to very low, and the conductivity of the coating deteriorates. On the other hand, making the oxide crystal larger and the grain size too large will reduce the binding force of the coating and deteriorate its electrochemical performance.
The thermal oxidation temperature is too low, the oxidation is incomplete, the binding force is poor, and the electrocatalytic performance is not required.
Oxidation temperature affects coating structure, composition and properties. Generally, RuO2 and TiO2 solid solutions with rutile structure can be obtained at 400℃ or above.
When the coating is platinum group metal oxide, such as RuO2, the heating atmosphere must be oxidizing, reducing atmosphere is not appropriate.
