Titanium alloys have the characteristics of high hardness, light weight, corrosion resistance, and high melting point, and are widely used in fields such as aviation, medical treatment, precision instruments, and high-end mechanical manufacturing.
Below is a brief introduction to the materials and types of titanium alloys used in welding:
According to the characteristics of titanium alloys, titanium alloy welding wires are currently mainly used in welding.
1. ERTi-1 titanium welding wire (pure titanium welding wire)
ERTi-1 is the purest unalloyed (or industrially pure CP) grade in strength. It is used in areas where ductility is prioritized, such as explosive bonding, active bushings, expanded metals, and deep drilling. It is also used in electrolysis, such as the cladding layer of the anode bottom layer in the production of sodium chlorate or chlorine gas.
2. ERTi-2 titanium welding wire
ERTi-2 titanium welding wire is usually used to weld industrial pure titanium. Due to its excellent strength and welding performance, it is widely used in industry. Typical applications include welding of industrial pure titanium heat exchangers, seawater heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and piping systems in chemical engineering.
3. ERTi-5 titanium alloy welding wire
ERTi-5 welding wire, due to its relatively low cost and easy availability, is the most common and widely used alloy grade. Its minimum tensile strength is 130000psi, which is good and can be heat treated to higher strength and toughness. ERTi-5 titanium alloy welding wire is used in aviation components, such as landing gear gears, wing beams, compressor blades, and its corrosion resistance is usually equivalent to ERTi-2.
Specification of titanium alloy welding wire: 0.8mm/1.2mm/2.0mm/2.5mm/3.0mm
