Do you know the forging and annealing process of tungsten rod?
Pure tungsten bar is made of 99.95% tungsten powder, its physical properties are: density of 19.3g/cm3, melting point (liquid) is 3422°C, electrical conductivity 30% IACS Min, hardness 69HRA Min, forging and annealing process results can be obtained through the test. It has special properties such as low thermal expansion with good thermal conductivity, adequate resistance to resistance, and high elastic modulus. It is widely used in various fields, such as support lines, import lines, printer needles, various electrodes and quartz furnaces, filaments, high-speed tools, automotive automatic products, sputtering targets, heating devices with special properties, etc. It is generally prepared by powder metallurgy.
The sintered pure tungsten bar was forged and elongated with different average forging ratios and forging methods, and the forged tungsten rod was annealed under different annealing regimes. The microstructure and physical and mechanical properties of the sample were analyzed by metallographic microscope, hardness tester and density tester. The research results showed that:
1. After forging, the density and hardness of the tungsten rod will be greatly increased, and if the forging ratio is too large, the tungsten rod will crack
2.If a smaller average forging ratio is used, the tungsten rod forged at one end with one fire cannot match the tungsten rod forged at both ends with one fire, and a group of tungsten rods forged at both ends have more meticulous workmanship.
3.If the total forging ratio is 80%, you can consider using a smaller forging ratio. The tungsten rod forged at one end of one fire is basically recrystallized after annealing at 1300 ℃ for 30 minutes. However, with a larger forging ratio, the tungsten rod forged at both ends of one fire needs to be annealed at 1350 ℃ for 60 minutes to complete recrystallization. However, after annealing, the hardness of tungsten rod by both methods will become smaller. Before and during annealing, the hardness of tungsten rods forged using the first forging process is lower than that of the second. As recrystallization is completed, this difference is no longer significant.
