Because the crucible's high temperature resistance is better than that of glassware, it must be used when a solid needs to be heated or melted. When using the crucible, in order to prevent the heated object from jumping out or the molten liquid from splashing out, The cover of the crucible needs to leave a little gap with the crucible to allow air to enter and possible oxidation reactions. Because the bottom of the crucible is small, it is usually necessary to stand it on the mud triangle to heat it directly by fire. The crucible can be placed directly or diagonally on the iron triangle, and can be placed by itself according to demand. After heating, the tungsten crucible can not be immediately placed on a cold metal table to avoid it from cracking due to sharp cooling.
What is the reason for the crack of pure tungsten crucible in production?
Cracks are prone to occur in the following two stages in the production process:
1 Pressing stage
The pressing of tungsten crucible is carried out in the cold isostatic press, and the types of cracks at the bottom of the pressing stage are mainly: bottom drop, bottom divergence cracking, and small cracks on the outside of the bottom, which are mainly related to powder ingredients, pressing pressure, and the size of the bottom corner R of the die mandrel.
2 Sintering stage
The main reason for the crack in the sintering stage is related to the sintering equipment and sintering atmosphere. For example, the effect of sintering tungsten crucible in the 1300-2036-WW resistance furnace is better than that in the induction furnace, which is easy to cause the bottom of the crucible to be inpermeable or uneven sintering due to structural reasons, resulting in possible cracks.
The best results for producing crucible are:
1.0 Recycled tungsten powder and newly purchased tungsten powder with a particle size of 3.0um~4.5um are evenly mixed in a certain proportion, which is the most conducive to production.
2.0 The pressure should be 170MPa~250MPa.
3 In the sintering process, the effect of holding heat by stages and sintering in the hydrogen resistance furnace is obviously better than other conditions, and the cooling rate can not be too fast at higher temperatures.
4 When the rounded R of the mandrel is 16mm~25mm, it is most suitable for rubber, and the rubber Shore hardness should not exceed 72.
If the above matters are paid attention to in production, the probability of easy cracking at the bottom of the crucible should be greatly reduced, thereby improving the yield of the crucible.
