Brief description of production process

That is, electrolytic copper or scrap copper wire with the same purity as electrolytic copper is used as raw material, dissolved in sulfuric acid to make an aqueous solution of copper sulfate, and a metal roller is used as the cathode, and the surface of the cathode roller is continuously electrolyzed through electrolysis reaction The process of depositing metallic copper while continuously stripping it from the cathode roller is called a green foil electrolysis process. The side that is finally peeled off from the cathode (smooth side) is the side seen on the surface of the laminate or printed circuit board, and the reverse side (commonly known as the matte side) is the side that requires a series of surface treatments and is bonded to the resin in the printed circuit board. Copper foil for lithium batteries achieves the production of double-sided copper foil by controlling the organic additive components of the electrolyte during the foil production process.
Principle of electrolysis
Under the action of the electric field, the cations in the electrolyte migrate to the cathode, and electrons are obtained on the cathode and are reduced. The anions migrate towards the anode, lose electrons and are oxidized. Connect two electrodes in the copper sulfate solution and apply direct current. At this time, you will find copper and hydrogen gas precipitating on the cathode. The response is as follows:
Cathode: Cu2+ +2e → Cu
2H+ +2e → H2↑
Anode: 4OH- -4e → 2H2O + O2↑
2SO42-+2H2O -4e → 2H2SO4 + O2↑
After the cathode surface is treated to a certain extent so that the copper layer deposited on the cathode can be peeled off, a copper skin of a certain thickness will be obtained. Copper sheet with certain functions is called copper foil.
